The author of this book, eight-year-old Caden Mack, created this book after adapting the song "12 Days of Christmas" to his very own song "12 Days Under the Sea." Shortly thereafter, Caden created this book.

This colorful and imaginative book teaches early mathematical concepts, such as, Counting forward (addition) (increasing) and counting backwards(subtraction) (diminishing). It equates numeral (symbol) to quantity (how many). Additionally, Colorful and clever figures add to the memory and correlation of how many to the number symbol, states, Dr. Dinghy Sharp EdD.
Caden Mack and his mother, Robin Larsen Mack, created this book together, with Caden as the author and Robin as the "illustrator," or more accurately, the "construction paperist!" All the images were cut-out from construction paper and pieced together by hand, by Robin. There is nothing more important or special then these types of interactions with kids. Not only do projects like this help to build self-confidence and foster creativity, but they also serve the practical function of making math and learning fun and interactive!
